About

My Coaching philosophy

I believe everyone is a leader - a leader of your own life. The most important job in the world!  By focusing on yourself and making your present life the best version of yourself, you will have more to give, more to gain and overall be more fulfilled.

How do I know this?  Because I’ve been there and I’ve done the work myself. I know coaching works. I have reinvented myself a few times over in the past 30 years and through my own coaching, finally found what makes me truly fulfilled in my work and the rest of my life.

I love coaching. It is my mission to help people navigate the changes they want in their lives. While change can be scary, it is also very exciting.  I focus on the whole person. Where are you now in all aspects of your life? Where do you want to be? The co-creative partnership of coaching together will support you cutting through the fog, clearly seeing your vision and creating your path forward to design the life you want to lead.

My Journey (so far)

Growing up I was very creative. I loved music, photography and movies. I thought I wanted to be a musician like my grandfather and travel around the world.

When I shared this thought with him he said, that is no life for me. He saw me carrying my satchel to my job and being very successful in an office. Disappointed in his response as he was the biggest, positive influence in my life, I always kept his words in my head as I forged my path ahead.

I went to college for Communication with a minor in music - focusing on film and tv and interpersonal communication (even then kept a bit of the practical in my studies- hearing Grandpa in my head).

Three months after college and backpacking in Europe, I landed a job in film not as the camera person, director I wanted to be, but as an accountant. I didn’t even know a debit from a credit at that time, but had to learn fast to pay the actors and crew every week on the film. Over the next two and half years, I rose to head accountant on an educational film in Boston. Sucess, yes. Fulfillment, no. I still wanted to be in the action on the set.

Over the next ten years I worked in television and photography and throughout that time always on the business side- the desk job I never thought I was meant to have. I was in a constant battle between my practical and creative sides.  I remember talking with an executive producer on a documentary about this. He gave me a book about finding my strengths and said that I was where I needed to be. I was really good at what I was doing. Again, successful, yes. Fulfilled, no. During this time I found project management and the similarities of technology and construction projects to a movie with a defined beginning, middle and end. I thought I found my calling.

I left my job in television to get more experience in other industries and poured myself into becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP). While I enjoyed project management, I found my passion for helping others be leaders and grow in their work. I trained other project managers, empowered them, coached them and really loved the part of my work where I got to support others and see them thrive. No matter the industry I have worked in from health care to insurance to telecom/real estate, the common denominator has always been my focus on the people. I was a leader in technology for a Fortune 500 company for 13 years and during that time transformed my own leadership style to be a servant leader that supports the most important part of any company, the people.

My interest in becoming a coach started in 2012, and I put the work on hold with the birth of my son in 2013. Becoming a mom was the most amazing role I’ve ever had in my life and still is. And, there was still something missing deep inside me. I craved another level of fulfillment in my work. I realized much of my life’s decisions had been based on what I should do instead of what I really wanted to do. It had been so long since I let myself dream that I felt lost and didn’t know where to begin. I just knew there was another way…

Fast forward to 2016 when I started my own journey with a coach. The work I’ve done with her (and continue to do) has changed my life. The clarity in my purpose and self worth has given me the courage to pursue my own coaching career.

In 2017, my formal coaching career started with my certification from Coach Training Alliance. I began my next chapter as a coach full time in 2021, with an ACC certification from the International Coaching Federation in 2022. Coaching is what I am meant to do!

I’ve coached people and teams in various stages of their lives and in many industries. As a coach our co-creative partnership supports you bringing out what you already have inside. When appropriate and/or requested, I couple my 30 years of leadership and project management expertise with my coaching to provide strategic guidance, tangible examples and action planning support.

No matter where you are in your journey, it is never too late to make what you desire your reality. Book a discovery call with me and let’s get started on your path forward. I can’t wait to meet you.
